• When you subscribe to emails: your email address and, if you provide it, your first name. We use them to send you the content you asked for and occasional emails from Brian. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
• When you visit the website: anonymous, aggregated visit statistics (pages viewed, referring website, country, device type). They do not identify you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used.
• Technical logs: our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as IP address and browser type, to deliver the website and keep it secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest (security).

3. Cookies

This website does not use cookies, advertising trackers or cross-site tracking. Our analytics tool is cookie-free. That is why we do not show a cookie banner.

4. Who processes your data

We use a small number of service providers, each bound by its own privacy commitments:

• Netlify (website hosting, United States): privacy policy
• MailerLite (email delivery, European Union): privacy policy
• Umami (cookie-free analytics): privacy policy

Some providers are located outside the UK and the European Union. In that case, transfers are protected by the safeguards required by law, such as the standard contractual clauses.

We never sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

5. How long we keep it

• Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data.
• Technical logs: for the limited period set by our hosting provider.

6. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or to stop using it. If you are in the UK or the European Union, you also have the rights to data portability and to restrict or object to processing under the UK GDPR and the GDPR. California residents have similar rights under the CCPA.

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
